Herrin Ellis R. Montgomery, 81, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2006 at 10:35 A.M. at his home.
Ellis was born May 1, 1925 in Fisk, Missouri to Emmitt and Sadie Montgomery. He married Sue Wolpers on April 24, 1954 in Jackson, Mississippi and together they have shared over 52 years of marriage.
Ellis worked as an electrician for Brown & Colombo for 35 years. He was a member of IBEW #702, West Frankfort, Little Egypt Antique Auto Club and Crab Orchard Boat & Yacht Club. He was a WWII Navy veteran, serving during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow in Herrin City Cemetery with military rites performed by Herrins VFW and American Legion Post. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
