Marion Elmer Geer, 92, died at 4:40 P.M. Monday, November 10, 2003 in Shawnee Christian Nursing Home.
Elmer was born March 25, 1911 in Marion to Albert and Bowden (Wooten) Geer. He married Maurice Dungey in 1936 and she preceded him in death on March 19, 1985.
Elmer was a painter and accomplished artist. He won several awards with his painting throughout the state of Illinois. He was a WWII Army veteran, a private in the 460th Engineer Depot Co., member of First Baptist Church of Marion and Painters Union Local #32. Loved to garden, camp and fish.

Grandson Brad Angel of Dallas, Texas
Sister-in-law Helen Geer of Johnston City
Brother-in-law Bill Eveland of Marion.
Preceded by Parents, Two (2) Brothers, Alonzo Geer and James Arthur Geer, One (1) Sister, Virginia Geer Eveland
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 13, 2003 at 12:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. David Hancock officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery in Energy. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
