Elsie M. Black, 95, of Marion, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 5:25 am at Herrin Hospital.
Elsie was born February 17, 1926 in Williamson County the daughter of Alonzo and Mary (Klope) Hanks. She married Bobby Dean Black on January 14, 1956 in Marion and together they shared 57 years of marriage until his death on January 24, 2013.
She worked for over 51 years for Distinctive Interiors and Waylon Sims.
Elsie is survived by her; Son – Ronnie Black and wife Kim of Marion
Daughter – Marcella Havener of Crab Orchard and fiancé Kevin Miller of Marion
Three Grandchildren;
Brandon Black and wife Sarah of Eldorado
Heather Midgett and husband Robbie of Marion
Joseph Havener and wife Jodi of Marion
Eleven Great Grandchildren;
Zach Midgett and wife Claire, Shaylie Black and fiancé Chase Arnold, Bryar, Dalton, Maddie, Kendal, Alex, Graycie, Gabriel, Elsie and Alayna
Two great great grandchildren – Mason Morris and Hank Midgett
Brother – Ruel Hanks and wife Mary of Pittsburg
Sister – Carrie Hensley of Cuba, Missouri
Several nieces and nephews
Preceded by her Parents, Husband – Bobby Dean Black, Son-in-law – Gary Havener, Sisters – Fern, Edith, Margaret, Brothers – Gilbert, Lyman, Richard and Dale Hanks
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 11 am at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Worley Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
