Elsie Manlove

Herrin- Elsie Manlove, 97, of Herrin, passed away at 7:00 AM, Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. Elsie was born on Halloween 1931 in Fairfield, IL to Edward and Eliza Manlove. She was a hardworking and dedicated woman who enjoyed spending time with the people she loved. Elsie was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Herrin First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading novels and watching television in her spare time. She was content, secure and at peace with her life and accomplishments. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include- Close family members- Jon Walker and wife Sondra of Elkhart, IN Tim Walker of Irvine, CA Steve Walker and wife Pam of Herrin Widney Hawthorne and husband David of San Diego, Ca Other family members include- Trevor, Amanda, Keith, Matthew, Susanne, Andrew and Jon Curry, and Sally Bates Step great nephew- Steven Simms of Olney She was preceded in death by her parents and brother- Vernie Manlove. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, IL. Memorial arrangements have been entrusted to Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to the Herrin First United Methodist Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.
