Elva Jean Shambon

Herrin- ELVA JEAN SHAMBON, age 83, of Herrin, passed away at 12:05am on Monday, December 8, 2008 at Herrin Hospital. Elva was born in East St. Louis, IL on December 3, 1925, the daughter of John and Adele (Julien) Shambon. She worked as an administrative secretary. Survivors include her brother-in-law- Ivo Vogt of Carterville, IL Nephew- Vincent and Karri Vogt of Crab Orchard, IL Niece- Carol and David Hahn of Carterville, IL Niece- Jean and Mike Montgomery of Marion, IL Nephew- Pat and Stacy Vogt of Carterville, IL She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister- Rose Vogt. As per Jeans wishes, she will be cremated. A private memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin at a later date.
