Eris J. Knakmuhs

Pittsburg- Eris J. Bundren-Knakmuhs, 91, of Pittsburg, passed away at 2:13 PM, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Eris was born on August 2, 1924 in Avon, IL to Walker and Myrtle (Wilkins) Krahl.  She married Laverne Bundren shortly after WWII in Abington, IL.  He preceded her in death on June 3, 1983.  Later she married Conrad Knakmuhs in June of 1994 in Harrisburg and he preceded her in death on April 20, 2007. She was a homemaker and of Baptist faith.  She attended Mt. Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church in Poordo for many years. Eris was a talented designer of her grand-daughters prom dresses and all things having to do with sewing and crocheting.  She could study a design or picture for a short time and later create an identical or slightly better version on her own.  She enjoyed spending time outdoors and canning fruits and vegetables with her family.  She will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 6, 2016 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.  Rev. Mark Fitzpatrick will officiate.  Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Poordo.  Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
