Erma Lee McMillan

Carterville- ERMA LEE McMILLAN, age 83, of Carterville, passed away at 4:00pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Herrin Hospital. Erma was born in Williamson County on May 17, 1926, the daughter of Henry L. and Hester R. (Pleasant) Furlow. She married Robert L. McMillan in Piggott, AR on August 24, 1946. He survives in Carterville. Mrs. McMillan was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Herrin. She was an avid golfer, bowler and quilter. She had retired from Olin Industries/General Dynamics. Survivors include her husband- Robert L. McMillan of Carterville, IL Daughter- Linda Colombo of Marion, IL Son- Allen and Carol McMillan of Herrin, IL Two grandchildren- Kelli Bryant of Pinellas Park, FL Joe McMillan of Herrin, IL One great grandchild- Alec Bryant of Pinellas Park, FL Sister- Evelyn Martin of Columbia, SC She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister- Sylvia Culver, one brother- Elmer Furlow, and her son-in-law- Fred Colombo. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, January 8, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Ed Hoke officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9am until time of service on Friday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
