Marion Esther F. Troxel, 87, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2006 at 6:30 A.M. at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
Esther was an only child born to Charles R. and Noma C. (Cox) Henderson on August 8, 1918 in Marion. She married Sam R. Troxel on June 18, 1944 in Marion and he preceded her in death on November 13, 1967.
During her working years Esther worked at Marion Kroger where she worked with her special friend Jim Gulley. She worked at Kroger for 32 years. Until failing health she was an active member of the Marion First Baptist Church where she worked in the church library. Esther had been a member of the church for over 77 years; she was saved and joined the church on November 18, 1928. She was a member of the Marion Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and TOPS. Esther enjoyed crocheting, gardening and was especially fond of fried green tomatoes.

Sister-in-law Ruby and Paul Reese of Marion
Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews
Esthers caregivers were the Harry Troxel family
Preceded by Parents, Husband Sam
Funeral services will Monday, June 5, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Joey Brent officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 P.M. 9 P.M. at the funeral home.
