Esther L. Milligan, 89, of Greenfield, Indiana, formerly of Marion passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Hancock Hospital in Greenfield, Indiana.
Esther was born in Marion on August 9, 1917 the daughter of Sherman and Florence Thompson. In 1938 Esther married Vernell Beasley who preceded her in death. In 1950 she married John Milligan with whom she would have celebrated 57 years of marriage in June of this year.
Esther was a homemaker, who was an exceptional cook. Her recipes have been passed throughout the family. She found her greatest joy in her family. She was delighted to get their phone calls and visits. Esther will be remembered by all as a fine Christian lady.
Survivors include Her husband John, two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and David Daniels of Greenfield, Indiana and Arlene and Alan Fox of Wilmington, Illinois. Four grandchildren, Dana Daniels, Derik Daniels, Todd Fox, Tricia & Jason Smith, eight great-grandchildren. Sister Pat Beasley of West Frankfort, two brothers, Robert Thompson of West Frankfort, and Mel Thompson of Marion, numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded by her parents, grandson, Terry Fox and two infant brothers.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at 3rd Baptist Church in Marion with Rev. Joe Arview officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
