Marion - Eugene Gene P. Pease, 82, of Carbondale formerly of Marion, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at Helia Healthcare in Carbondale. Gene was born December 08, 1922 to Carl W. & Rosie Mae (Copher) Pease in Marion. He married Louise Sumner on November 09, 1947 in Marion and she survives in Carbondale. Gene was retired from Ameren CIPS. Gene was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a member of University Baptist Church of Carbondale, IBEW #702 and VFW Post #1301 of Marion. Gene is survived by: His wife Louise of Carbondale Three Sons: Gerald E. Pease of Manhattan, Montana Paul Richard Pease and his wife Laura of Scottsdale, Arizona Michael Joe Pease of Carbondale One Daughter Sherry Hingtgen of Urbana, Illinois Five Grandchildren One Sister Doris Christopher of Marion Preceded by: Parents, One Brother Bob Pease Funeral services will be Sunday, January 2, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Sam Foskey officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion. The VFW Post #1301 and American Legion Post #147 of Marion will perform military rites. Visitation will be Sunday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be given to the University Baptist Church or the charity of choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
