Eva E. Herlan

Eva E. Herlan, age 91, of Marion, died Thursday, July 19th at 7:20 A.M. at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. Visitation for Mrs. Herlan was from 12:30-2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 23rd at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. The service was at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Melva G. England officiating. Burial followed Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. She was born March 19, 1910 in Johnson County to Joshua and Kate (Hartkopf) Collins. They preceded her in death. She married Earl Herlan in 1934 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1971. Mrs. Herlan retired from Jewel Food Stores in Chicago after working for 20 years as a Service Manager. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia & John Schmit and one son, Lanny Herlan, all of Springfield. She is also survived by one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
