Eva Flo Summers

Marion Eva Flo Summers, 81, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 3:27 A.M. at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home. Eva was born August 4, 1928 in Glendale, Illinois the daughter of Willie & Lillian (Butler) Wells. She married Gene Summers on January 15, 1960 in Herrin and he preceded her in death on November 13, 1975. She attended 3rd Baptist Church, and she was a past member of the Eastern Star. Eva retired from General Telephone where she had worked as a phone operator for over 19 years. Survivors include: Daughter Regina A. Summers of Marion Brother Floyd Wells of Vienna Sister-in-laws; Hazel Wells of Carbondale Juanita Harden of Harrisburg Several Nieces and Nephews Preceded by her Parents, Husband Gene Summers, Sister Mildred Morris and Two Brothers Bill & Maurice Wells. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 1 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
