Evelyn Fay Cappellano Oliver, age 72, of Marion, died at 10:00 P.M. at her home. Services were at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 4th, at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, with Father Richard Mohr officiating. Burial followed in Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin. Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 3rd at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to St. Josephs Catholic Church in Marion.
Mrs. Oliver was born September 14, 1928 in Herrin to Albert and Velma (Stephens) Hacker. Both parents preceded her in death. She married Dominic Cappellano on March 14, 1944 in Morganfield, Kentucky. He died September 3, 1990. Mrs. Oliver was retired from Vernells Interstate Service, where she had worked in the office for fifteen years. She was a member of the St. Josephs Catholic Church in Marion.
Her survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy & Denise Cappellano of Harrisburg; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Nedra Garten of Colp, Donna & Carl Dick Puckett of Monroe City, Indiana, and JoAnn & Greg Venable of Marion; eight grandchildren, Angel Krelo, Larry Dean and Keith Pope, all of Herrin, Bruce (& Tonya) Dunnig of Colp, Marla (& Brian) Motsinger and Austin Venable, all of Marion, Scott (& Amy) Evrard of Evansville, Tracy Mansel of Lawton, Oklahoma; four great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Imogene Edwards of Marion and Marjorie & Bob Howell of Johnston City. She was preceded in death by one son, Frank Cappellano, one granddaughter, Eve Evrard, and one son-in-law, Terry Oakley.
