Evelyn L. Treece

Herrin- EVELYN L. TREECE, age 91, of Herrin, passed away at 3:55pm on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Herrin Hospital. Evelyn was born in Herrin on October 11, 1918, the daughter of Arch and Effie (McCall) Jackson. She married Fred B. Treece in Herrin on June 4, 1941. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1998. Mrs. Treece was a member of the First Baptist Church in Herrin. She retired from Herrin Hospital, where she had worked as a nurses aide. Evelyn enjoyed reading and feeding her birds. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law- Bruce and Nancy Treece of Osceola, IN Four grandchildren- Christina, Fred, Jessica and Eric Treece Special Friend- Doris Frey of Christopher, IL She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Fred, two brothers- Bruce and Clifton Jackson, and three nephews- Jimmy, Clifton Buddy, and Larry Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Mark Hutson officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, September 3, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Herrin.
