Evelyn Virginia Hudgens

Marion Evelyn Virginia Hudgens, 85, passed away at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, June 17, 2005 at Fountains Nursing Home with her family at her side. Evelyn was born April 2, 1920 in rural Carterville, the second daughter of Ily and Della (Skinner) Baine. She married Lloyd J. Hudgens in 1949. He preceded her in death. To their union was born James Nelson Hudgens, who died in March 2005 and a still-born daughter Alberta. Evelyn is survived by: Two Grandchildren: Vickie and Jimmy Three Sisters: Margaret Patterson of California Doris Forgach of Marion Beverly Walker of Carbondale Several Nieces and Nephews Her family and friends loved her dearly and that love and concern was generously returned by Evelyn. She was a faithful member of Community Chapel Church in Marion. Funeral services will be on Monday, June 20, 2005 at 1:30 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, southeast of Marion on Wolf Creek Road. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family extends thanks to Fountains Nursing Home Staff, Community Chapel members and Pastor Colson for their loving care and concern. For those who prefer memorials may be given to Community Chapel Church and envelopes will be available at Mitchell-Hughes.
