Everett Henshaw, Jr., 82, of Carterville, formerly of Marion, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 4:15 pm at Heartland Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.
“Junior” was born May 15, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Everett, Sr. & Edith (Hogue) Henshaw. He married Connie Fetters on July 29, 1983 in Marion and together they have shared over 33 years of marriage.
“Junior” served in the US Army, working in the White House Secret Service under President Dwight D. Eisenhauer from 1958 – 1960. He returned home joining his father in the family trucking business, Henshaw Wholesale Lumber and Grain, later becoming owner/operator. He retired as an over the road truck driver in 2010.
He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Marion.

Graveside services will be Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 1 pm at Rose Hill Cemetery with Dr. Bob Wagner officiating. Military rites will be presented by members of the V.F.W. Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and National Guard Detail Unit. Followed by a Celebration of Life memorial service at 2 pm at Celebrations Event Center, 1305 Crane Drive in Marion (formerly the Marion Golf Course and Clubhouse). Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
