Marion – Fannie Ruth (Hendrick) Snoddy, age 94, passed away peacefully at 3:45pm on Saturday, October 3, 2015 surrounded by family and friends in the home of her Son and Daughter-in-law.
Fannie was born in St. David, Illinois on October 20, 1920, the daughter of Mary (Butorac) and Frank Hendrick, Sr.On October 27, 1941, in Missouri, she married the love of her life, Virgil Snoddy. Together, they walked though this life until his death on May 27, 1977. From this union, Fannie and Virgil had two sons, Marlin and Donald Snoddy of Marion.
Fannie was very active in the community. She touched so many lives with kindness and generosity. She enjoyed crafting with friends at the Home Extension Program of Williamson County. Mrs. Snoddy was a member of the Coal Bank Springs Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener, always sharing the bounty with many in the community.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughter-in-laws, Marlin and Phyllis (Hendrickson) and Donald and Sandra (LeMay) of Marion; grandchildren Tandi and Greg Fernandez of Marion, Kerry Joe Snoddy of Herrin, Fannie and Carl Thiel of New Salem, North Dakota, Nancee Williams of Marion; great grandchildren Jaleigha, Breana, and Miranda Jones of Marion, Cassandra Snoddy of Herrin, Noah and Hannah Thiel of New Salem, Northa Dakota, Marlin, Sara, and Grace Williams of Marion; great great grandchild- Amirah Jones of Marion; sister, Eva Tokarzewski of Michigan; brother and sister-in-law, Wincel and Christine Hendrick of Michigan; friend and neighbors Sheila Eyestone and Linda Sourbis; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband; granddaughter, Beth Ann Snoddy; grandson, Matthew Snoddy; great grandson, Issiah Williams; brothers, Frank Hendrick, Jr. and Ralph Hendrick; half-brothers, Dean Snoddy, and Virgil Snoddy, Jr.; half-sister, Dona Armstrong; as well as one brother and sister in infancy.
Friends are invited to share their memories from 5-8pm on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with the Reverend John Howatt officiating. Burial will follow the services at Coal Bank Springs Cemetery.

Fannie will be greatly missed by the many lives she touched, her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Snoddy who was her loving caregiver for two years, the sons she adored, and all her precious grandchildren.
