Flita Griffith

West Frankfort- Flita L. Frieda Griffith, 82, died Thursday, January 01, 2004 at 1:15 A.M. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Flita was born September 06, 1921 to John and Eva (Cooper) Pike in Sesser. She married Joe Jackson Griffith on February 14, 1948 in Oceola, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on September 16, 1997. Mrs. Griffith retired as a seamstress at Smoller Brothers in Herrin. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers of America and of Baptist Faith. Survivors include: Three (3) sons and daughter-in-laws; John & Terri Griffith of West Frankfort Roger & Lisa Griffith of Auburn, IL Jim & Kelly Griffith of West Frankfort Eleven grandchildren and spouses; Shane & Angie Griffith of West Frankfort Shannon & David Denfip of Smithland, KY Jeremy & Lauren Griffith of Carbondale Magen & Weylin Wece of Murphysboro Randa & Kendall Marvel of Ashland City, TN Mitch Griffith of West Frankfort Andi & Charlie Isom of Elkville David Patchett of Arlington Heights, IL Randy & Andrea Murphy of West Frankfort Justin Griffith of West Frankfort Lauren Griffith of West Frankfort Thirteen (13) great grandchildren; Hunter and Sheldon Griffith David, Madison and Aaron Denfip Shelby and Kolton Marvel Kelin and Hanna Wece Brandon and Stephanie Isom Clayton and Gratin Murphy One (1) brother; Charlie Pike of Slidell, LA Two (2) sisters; Marie & Jerry Randolph of West Frankfort Stella Calhoun of West Frankfort Several nieces and nephews Preceded by Parents, Husband, Brother - George Pike and Sister - Juanita Stipes Funeral services will be Monday, January 05, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Pastor Joe Zbinden officiating. Burial will follow in Herrin City Cemetery.
