Florence Marie Mapps

Marion—Florence Marie Mapps, age 76, of Marion, passed away at 11:20am on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Herrin Hospital. Florence was born in Franklin County on January 20, 1937, the daughter of Cloris and Florence Evelyn (Sullivan) Stewart.  She married Eddie Mapps on May 24, 1956 in Franklin Park, Illinois.  Together, they shared fifty-six years of marriage. He survives in Marion. Mrs. Mapps was a member of the Marion Second Baptist Church.  She was a retired cook for the Marion Unit 2 School District and a homemaker. Survivors include her husband- Eddie Mapps of Marion; Three sons- Ronald and Janet Mapps of Albion; Mark and Cindy Mapps of Marion; David Mapps of Marion; Five Grandchildren; Three Great Grandchildren; Brother- Gordan Stewart of Logan; Sister- Juanita Provinzano of Melrose Park, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family will hold private memorial services at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Wagner officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion.
