Floriene A. Owens

Floriene (Flo) A. Owens, age 76, of Marion, died Friday, August 3rd at 8:15 A.M. at Friendship Care Center in Marion, Illinois. Visitation for Mrs. Owens was from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday, August 5th at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Services were at graveside at Rose Hill Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 6th with Sister Dorothy Cook officiating. Burial immediately followed the service. She was born December 6, 1924, to Jess and Mayme (Sanders) Darnell. They preceded her in death. She married Charles R. Owens. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1954. Mrs. Owens was a member of I.A.M. #554, VFW #5764 in West Frankfort, the Marion Eagles Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmie & Madeline Owens of Johnston City, Michael E. & Crystal Owens and Bobby Joe & Mary Owens, all of Marion; five grandchildren, Angela Kay Rich, Bobbie Jo Owens, Deborah Floriene Cole, Michael Wayne Owens, and Tonya Baldwin, and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Gene Darnell of New York, and two sisters, Ruth Reed of Creal Springs and Jessie Ramey of Chicago. She was preceded in death by both parents and her step-mother, Lillian Darnell.
