Marion- Flossie M. Scott, 99, of Marion, passed away at 2:35 PM, Friday, July 31, 2009 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Flossie was born on April 11, 1910 in Carterville to James Arthur & Nora (Magee) Taylor. She married Charles C. Blake in 1928 and he preceded her in death in 1961. Later she married Everett E. Scott in 1976 and he preceded her in death in 1992. Flossie retired from the State of Illinois Unemployment Office in Murphysboro after 29 years of service. She was a member of Crainville Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family. Survivors include- Daughter- Geraldine Vaughn of Marion Step Daughter- Marietta Chelin Black & husband Ron of Carterville Grandchild- Debbie Davis of Murphysboro Grandchild- Jeffrey Chelin & wife Kim of Scottsdale, AZ Grandchild- Craig Chelin & wife Aimee of Marion Six great Grandchildren: Andi Mahoney & husband Jason Kyle Davis & wife Nicole Sydney Chelin Collin Chelin Kaitlyn Chelin Carsen Chelin Great Great Grandchildren- Rylee & Carson Davis Several nieces & nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son- Clyde Ray Blake, five brothers, four sisters and two sons in laws- Bob Vaughn & Dale Chelin. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 3, 2009 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Dr. Bob Wagner will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service, Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Marion Second Baptist Church or a charity of the donors choice and will be accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home/ 800 N. Market St./ Marion, IL 62959.
