Johnston City- FRANCES (SEGRETARIO) MENEESE, age 85, of Johnston City, passed away at 9:40am on Friday, June 11, 2010 at Angel Acres in Marion. Frances was born in Marion on November 23, 1924, the daughter of Gaetano and Dorothy (Viso) Segretario. She was married to Oscar Meneese, who passed away on August 28, 1981. Mrs. Meneese retird from Norge/Maytag where she had worked for forty years. Frances was a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church in Johnston City. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, the VFW, the American Legion, the Eagles, and the Union Steward of the Machinist Union. She loved to play bingo. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Southern Illinois nurses and all the staff at Angel Acres. Survivors include her daughter- Margaret Little of Johnston City, IL Granddaughter- Chrissy and Keith Lampley of Johnston City, IL Great Grandchildren- Tyler, Jordan, and Keegan Lampley of Johnston City, IL Sister- Rosalie Stubblefield of West Frankfort, IL Two brothers- Joe and Shirley Segretario of Marion, IL Domineck Segretario of Johnston City, IL Niece and Caregiver- Lisa Niggeman of Marion, IL Niece- Joni Emmerson of Paducah, KY She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Oscar Meneese, Jr, two brothers, four sisters, and one nephew- Tony Segretario. A funeral mass will be held at 1pm on Monday, June 14, 2010 at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Johnston City with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with a prayer service being held at 5pm on Sunday evening at the funeral home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home; 800 N Market Street; Marion, IL 62959.
