Frank Ross

DuQuoin- FRANK ROSS, age 83, of DuQuoin, passed away at 1:47am on Friday, March 23, 2007 at Marshall-Browning Hospital in DuQuoin. Frank was born in Minneapolis, MN on May 27, 1923, the son of Frank and Lena (Seiler) Ross. He married Louise King on April 5, 1995 in Chester, IL. She survives in DuQuoin. Mr. Ross was a chemist for Velsicol Chemical Company and Chicago & Dow Chemical Company. He received his BS degree from Gustavaus Adolphus College, an MS degree from the University of Minneapolis, and a PHD from Northwestern University. Frank was a US Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dowell, IL, as well as a member of the American Chemical Society, Alpha Chi Sigma, and the Chemical Fraternity. Frank was also an English tutor to Chinese students at the SIU Baptist Center. Survivors include- His wife- Louise Ross of DuQuoin, IL Sister-In-Law- Phyllis Ross of Elk River, MN Special Nieces- Judy and Mark Rygh of St. Paul, MN Kathleen and Greg Super of Minneapolis, MN Several nieces and nephews Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one half-brother. A visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Monday, March 26, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
