Marion- Fred Hilliard, 91, of Marion, passed away at 1:25 AM, Thursday, November 24, 2005 at Fountains Nursing Care Center in Marion.
Fred was born on September 26, 1914 in Williamson County to Tommy & Lizzie (Tanner) Hilliard. He married Ruby Lunsford on April 4, 1937 in Marion. She preceded him in death on June 24, 1993.
Mr. Hilliard was a World War II Army Veteran and a retired coal miner. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America #7031, Marion Veterans of Foreign Wars #1301 and the Marion Masonic Lodge AF & AM #89.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son; Gerald Lee Dubber Hilliard, and brothers; Frank & Orval Hilliard.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Gordon Lambert will officiate. Masonic rites will be performed by Marion Lodge AF & AM # 89 prior to service time. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service, Saturday, at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.
