Fred L. Ridlen, 93, died Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at 11:05 A.M. in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Fred was born May 31, 1910 to William & Josephine (Sneed) Ridlen in Hamilton County. He married Gladys Pike and she preceded him in death on March 16, 1972, he later married Thelma A. Schneider and she preceded him in death on December 20, 2002.
Fred was a retired storekeeper from CIPS, member 3rd Baptist Church and IBEW #702.
Survivors include:
One (1) Son Leston Ridlen and wife Nelda of Marion
One (1) Daughter Glenna Thompson and husband Roger of McLeansboro
Two (2) Grandsons;
John Thompson of Springfield, IL
Danny Ridlen of Mississippi
One (1) Granddaughter - Tammy Ridlen of Mississippi
One (1) Brother Samuel Ridlen of Champaign, IL
One (1) Sister Freida White of Marion
Preceded by Parents, Three (3) Brothers Herbert, Willard and Carl Ridlen, Two (2) Sisters Julia Kimmel and Aleta Payne
Celebration of Freds life will be Saturday, February 28, at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Siefried & Rev. Tony Holly officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery in Energy. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
For those who prefer, memorials may be given to the Hopewell Baptist Church of McLeansboro or All Nation Church of God of Marion.
