Marion- FREDERICK DANIEL SPILLER, age 81, of Marion, passed away at 8:05am on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at his residence in Marion.
Frederick was born in Gary, Indiana on August 14, 1927, the son of Ralph and Goldie (Johnson) Spiller. He married Genevieve Furlow in Marion on September 18, 1948. She survives in Marion.
Mr. Spiller attended the New Horizon Baptist Church in Marion. He was a World War II and Korean War Veteran. He was a member of the BPOE #800, VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147, 32nd degree Masonic Lodge #89 AF and AM Cosistory of Belleville, Williamson County Shine, Marion Eagles, and the Illinois Police Association.

Two sons- Allen and Marie Spiller of Marion, ILL
Randal and Nancy Spiller of West Frankfort, IL
Two granddaughters- Laura Martis of Carterville, IL
Michelle and Tad Anglin of Carterville, IL
Five great grandchildren-Jack, Grace and Trevor Anglin
Ethan Martis and Evan Spiller
Two brothers- James and Carol Spiller of Huntley, IL
Harry Spiller of Marion, IL
One sister- Nadine Stambaugh of Marion, IL
One sister-in-law- Shirley Spiller of Marion, IL
Two Nieces, one nephew, and one great niece

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10am on Monday, November 3, 2008 at Oddfellows Cemetery in Marion with the Rev. Roger Odum officiating and military rites presented by Marions VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and National Guard Unit. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
