Gary Allan Allsopp

Herrin- Gary Allan Allsopp, 66, of Herrin, passed away at 8:40 PM, Sunday, August 9, 2009 at his residence. Gary was born on September 6, 1942 in Herrin to K.B. & Opal (Davis) Allsopp. He was a US Army Veteran and retired from Wilbert Vault Company in Herrin. He enjoyed riding four wheelers, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors with friends and family. Survivors include- Son- Darwin Allsopp & wife Melissa of Herrin Son- Troy Allsopp & wife Theresa of Hurst Four Grandchildren Close friends- Don & Emma Sanders of Pomona He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter- Charity Allsopp and one son- Gary Allan Allsopp, Jr. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 14, 2009 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Military rites will be performed at graveside by the Herrin American Legion & VFW Posts. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Friday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.
