Chester- Gary Everett Sexton, 63, of Chester, formerly of Herrin, went to be with his Lord at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, July 23, 2003.
Gary was born on January 25, 1940 in Herrin to William Howard & Eva (Stephens) Sexton. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp.
Mr. Sexton married his former wife, Linda (Verga) Gray on July 23, 1976 in Marion. She survives of Chester.
Gary was of Protestant faith and a member of the Chester Eagles Aire 3252.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Don & Billy Sexton, and three sisters; Betty Farris, Evelyn Nation, & Mildred Hale.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 Am, Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at Herrin City Cemetery. Rev. David Hale will officiate. Inurnment will follow at the cemetery. Military Rites will be performed at graveside by the Herrin VFW & American Legion Posts. Memorial donations are suggested to the Williamson County Child Advocacy Center or to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the cemetery or at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
