Gavin Michael Atwood

Gavin Michael Atwood, age 20, of Herrin, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 at his home.

Gavin was born March 02, 2002 in Carbondale, Illinois, a son of Dawn Michelle Clutts-Lavender.

He is survived by his mother and step-father- Dawn Michelle Clutts-Lavender and husband Jim; grandparents- Donna Clutts (David Tope), Harry (Debbie) Clutts, and Sharolyn Atwood; one brother, Collin (Kaylee Boles) Branson; nephew Ryker Branson, niece Rylin Branson, uncle Greg (Elizabeth) Clutts, uncle Brent Clutts, aunt Traci Hays, aunt Shelly Clutts, cousin Rheagan Clutts, cousin Eli Clus, cousin Ahnalynn Hays, cousin Marli Clus, and cousin Renleigh Laney. He is preceded in death by his Great Aunt, Linda Schack.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 14th, 2022 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 15, 2022, 11:00 AM at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. John Holst officiating. Family and friends are invited to dress casual and encouraged to wear Gavin's favorite choice of shoe wear, your Van's. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery.

Gavin, I love you. Every day of your life, I've loved you. I loved you when you made me angry. I loved you when you didn't want to be loved. I loved you when you made me cry. I loved you. I love you today, yesterday and I will love you for the rest of my days. I hope you're at peace in Heaven and you get to see lots of beautiful sunsets. I will see you again someday, Gavin.
