Geneva Hudgens

Marion- GENEVA HUDGENS, age 86, of Marion, passed away peacefully at 3:00pm on Monday, November 24, 2008 at Angel Acres surrounded by her family members and many friends. Geneva was born in Union County on May 20, 1922, the daughter of Harvey H. and Lona E. Hudgens. She retired from the State of Illinois having worked for twenty-five years at the Valley View Girls School, which was later changed to a boys school. Mrs. Hudgens was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Marion. Survivors include four sisters- Flodene Uhls of Monticello, MN Vivian Escue of Marion, IL Athleen Lingle of Johnston City, IL Ruth Nation of Marion, IL One Brother- Carl and Dolly Hudgens of Marion, IL One sister-in-law- Donna Hudgens of Marion, IL Many Nieces and Nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, one brother- Leon Hudgens, and two sisters- Delores Henderson and Mildred Lindsey. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, November 28, 2008 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Wagner and Rev. Gilbert Craig officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 11-1pm on Friday at the funeral home.
