Geneva Marie Castrale

Herrin- Geneva Marie Castrale, 80, of Herrin, passed away at 7:55 PM, Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Herrin Hospital. Geneva was born on April 30, 1927 in Zeigler, the only child to Harry & Johanna (Klun) Pollack. She married Joe Castrale on February 31, 1955 in McLeansboro. He survives of Herrin. Mrs. Castrale taught school for forty years, five years at Hurst-Bush. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Survivors include- Husband- Joe Castrale of Herrin Mother- Johanna Pollack of Herrin She was preceded in death by her father and one daughter- Becky Castrale. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Father Steve Poole will officiate. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. A prayer service will be recited at 6:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
