Marion Genevieve M. Mangan, 90, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 3:27 A.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Genevieve was born December 10, 1918 in Fairbury, Illinois the daughter of Charles & Lizzie (Sherwood) Green. She married Edmund L. Mangan in Chicago on December 12, 1936 and together they shared over 43 years of marriage until his death on February 5, 1980. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Womens Guild. She had worked at Fountain Nursing Home. Survivors include: Four sons; Edmund L. Mangan III of Phoenix, AZ Michael Mangan and wife Barb of Carbondale Patrick Mangan and wife Ginny of Arvada, CO Larry Mangan of Marion Three Daughters; Rosemary Gross of Normal, IL Marge Mangan of Marion Joann Jeralds and husband Scott of Valencia, CA Twenty-two Grandchildren Twenty-six Great Grandchildren Three Great Great Grandchildren Brother Charles Green of Phoenix, AZ Special Friends Ted Edds and Lesa McConnaughhay Preceded by Parents, Husband, Edmund, Daughter, Edna Smedley, One grandson, One great grandson, Two son-in-laws, Three brothers and One sister. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 10 A.M. at St. Josephs Catholic Church with Monsignor Ken Schafer officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Burial will be Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Hudson Cemetery in Hudson, Illinois. For those who prefer memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, IL 62959.
