Genevieve Spiller

Genevieve Spiller, age 91, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Integrity Health Care in Marion, Illinois.

Genevieve was born February 08, 1932 in Marion, Illinois, a daughter of Sylvanus and Bessie (Shelton) Furlow. She married the love of her life, Frederick Daniel Spiller on September 18, 1948 in Marion, IL. He preceded her in death on November 1, 2008. Prior to her retirement, Genevieve had worked as the librarian for more than twenty-three years at the Marion Carnegie Library.

She is survived by her son, Randall (Chris) Spiller; daughter-in-laws-Marie Spiller and Peggy Martis; one sister- Wilma Lollar; grandchildren- Michelle Aglin, Tad Aglin, Laura and Jason Yoba, Great Grandchildren- Grace, Trevor, Jill, and Jack Aglin and Ethan Martis.

She is preceded in death by her spouse Frederick Daniel Spiller; one son, Allen Spiller; her parents, Bessie (Shelton) and Sylvanus Furlow; two sisters-Melba Gray and Irene Hicks; and her brothers, Virgil, William, Ed, Lester, and Kenny Furlow.

Graveside Services will be held Monday, March 20, 2023, 11:00 AM at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion with Rev. Keith Owens officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery.
