George Ann Mayer, 92, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 6:10 P.M. at the home of her daughter in Cumming, Georgia.
George Ann was born February 22, 1918 in Marion the daughter of George William & Antice Gladys (Worley) Cutrell. She married Julian Kenneth Mayer on March 30, 1949 in Jackson, Missouri, he preceded her in death on July 30, 1974.
She was a member of the Third Baptist Church of Marion for over 50 years and One Heart Church of Norcross, Georgia for the past five years. She worked at Sangamo Electric, Nates Westside, Rons Barbeque and the Farmers Table.
George Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who lived all 92 years of her life with grace and beauty.
She is survived by her;
Son Kenneth Dale Mayer and wife Betty of Pittsburg
Daughter Mary Margo Askew and husband Larry of Cumming, Georgia
Grandsons;
Brian Askew and wife Lori of Milton, Georgia
Garret Askew and wife Heidi of Round Rock, Texas
Great Grandchildren;
Brynn and Dallyn Askew of Milton, Georgia
Caden and Cullen Askew of Round Rock Texas
Sister Sharon Poindexter of Pocahontas, Arkansas
Preceded by her Parents, Husband Kenneth, Brother William J. Cutrell, Sisters Lola Dare and Carlynn Helbig.
A memorial service will be Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 11 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Askew officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
