George Richard Klein

George Klein, 78, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 7:05 P.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. George was born July 4, 1929 in Logansport, Indiana the son of George and Virginia (Byerly) Klein. He married Joan Anderson on May 6, 1985 in Chicago and she survives in Marion. George was a dispatcher with the railroad for over 42 years. He was a Marine proudly serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict and a member of Marion American Legion. George is survived by; Nine Sons; Ret Klein of Denver, CO Daniel Klein and wife Geogetter of Oakland, IL Joseph Klein of Oakland, IL Gerald Klein and wife Sylvia of Tinley Park, IL James J. Benca and wife Connie of St. Cloud, FL Richard Benca and wife Cathy of Lancaster, OH Bill Benca of Memphis, TN Gary Benca and wife Heeyun of Memphis, TN Ken Benca of Nashville, TN Six Daughters; Kathy Sommer and husband Roy of Downers Grove, IL Debi Hechler of Daytona Beach, FL Regina Klein of Chicago, IL Gail Johnston of Reno, NV Betty Edwards of Reno, NV Jennifer Benca of Breman, OH Thirty-two grandchildren and many great grandchildren Sister Lorraine Lennon of Lebanon, IN Preceded by his parents and brother Joseph H. Klein. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Father Richard Mohr officiating. Military rites will be presented by Marions VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and National Guard Unit. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
