Gladys L. Barham

HERRIN- Gladys Lucille Barham, age 92, of Herrin, passed away at 10:40 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2006 at Herrin Hospital. Gladys was born on May 27, 1913 in Herrin to Fred and Mary (Johnson) Smith. She married Ralph C. Barham on March 17, 1934 in Herrin. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1999. Mrs. Barham was a member of the Herrin First Baptist Church for 54 years. She loved her Church and loved the Lord. God blessed Gladys and Ralph with two children: Daughter and Son-In-Law- Wanda L. and Kenneth Gentry Carterville, IL Son and Daughter-In-Law- James R. (Jim) and Phyllis Barham Herrin, IL Her life was also blessed with: 3 grandchildren- Kendra J. and Andrew Gill- Streator, IL Alison B. and Trenton M. Funk- Elkville, IL Trevor J. Barham and friend Toni Ruggeri- Herrin, IL 5 great grandchildren- Tyler, Clayton, & Reese Funk- Elkville, IL Sydney and Brody Gill- Streator, IL 4 sisters-in-law- Opal Finley- Carbondale, IL Olive Pribble- Lansing, MI Ethel Barham- Beardstown, IL Violet Smith- Alabama 1 brother-in-law- Paul Barham- Johnston City, IL Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her husband- Ralph, her parents, and one brother- Paul Smith. Funeral services for Mrs. Barham will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Grammer officiating. Burial will follow at Barham Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until 12:00pm on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois Blue West or the Herrin First Baptist Church Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
