Herrin- GLEN "NEAL" MILLER, age 76, of Herrin, passed away at 7:14am on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Herrin Hospital. Glen was born in Springfield, IL on January 14, 1933, the son of Glen E. and Tressa (Tate) Miller. He married Barbara J. Timmons in Centralia on May 15, 1964. She survives in Herrin. Stationed in Germany, Glen was a United States Army Korean War Veteran. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the NRA. He enjoyed working on the Burlington Northern Railroad with his brother, from which he retired. He loved to work with wood from his high school years all through his life, building and cutting crafts for craft people. Glen loved animals, his favorite being English Bulldogs, which he even raised at one time. Glen had a great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. Survivors include his wife- Barbara J. Miller of Herrin, IL Two daughters- Tina Pierce of Herrin, IL Vicki Miller of Herrin, IL Four Grandchildren- Tiffany Pierce, Sumar Kane, Travis Pierce, & Charsi Kane all of Herrin One brother- Dale Miller of Centralia, IL Sister-In-Law- Lora Timmons of Centralia, IL Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, one son- Michael Kane, and one daughter- Luann McKnight. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, February 20, 2009 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Entombment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy with military honors presented by Herrin's American Legion and VFW Posts.
