Glenn J. Ogden

Herrin- GLENN JUNIOR OGDEN, age 78, of Herrin, passed away at 8:15 pm on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at the VA Medical Center in Marion. Glenn was born on January 28, 1928 in Crainville, IL to Charles Glenn and Colleen Daisy (Wiggs) Ogden. He married Mary Joyce McCain on June 10, 1951 in Crainville and together they shared 49 years of marriage, until her death on May 21, 2001. Mr. Ogden was a member of the Crainville Baptist Church. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion and was a Navy Veteran of World War II. Survivors include: 4 sons and their spouses- Randy Don Ogden of Denver, CO, Dennis & Rebekah Ogden of Johnston City, and Christopher & Brenda Ogden of Chicago, Charles Kevin & Michelle Ogden of Herrin ; 4 daughters and their spouses- Cathy & John Goebel of Herrin, Susan & Dan Anderson of Vienna, Karen Ogden of Herrin, Kimberly Diane & James Stephenson of Herrin. Also surviving are 32 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and a half-brother Mike Ogden & his wife Susan of Herrin. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mary Joyce. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Jeff Wiggs and Rev. Brad Harlow officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery with military rites performed by Herrins American Legion and VFW Posts. Visitation will be held from 11:30am until the time of the service on Saturday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
