Marion Gloria Ruth Craig, 83, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 9:50 A.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Gloria Ruth was born November 23, 1927 in Williamson County the daughter of William Thomas & Dollie (Fletcher) Owen. She married Harry Craig and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1985.
Gloria Ruth worked at Herrin Hospital for 15 years as a nurse. She greatly enjoyed her career in nursing and was loved by patients and staff. She resided in rural Marion and attended Walnut Hill Baptist Church. After retiring she spent her time sewing, tending to her flower garden and raising canaries. Her greatest enjoyment was her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always very giving to her family and willing to put their needs first. To her children she was, and still is, the most wonderful mother in the world.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 1 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Steve Shea officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Paulton. Visitation will be Thursday from 11 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
