Golda Gentile

Carterville- GOLDA MAE GENTILE, age 80, of Carterville, passed away at 11:37pm on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Herrin Hospital. Golda was born in rural Williamson County on November 23, 1929, the daughter of William and Pearl (Thomas) Chew. She married Dominick Antonio Rocco Mimi Gentile in Piggott, Arkansas on January 22, 1947. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1993. Golda was a homemaker. Her love for dressing up and her husbands love for spoiling her, always kept her adorned with an extensive wardrobe. She was very generous and giving to everyone and enjoyed sending flowers and simply trying to cheer people up. Survivors include two sons- Jim and Judy Gentile of Herrin, IL Marty Gentile of Colp, IL Six grandchildren- Jill and Mike Lentz of Herrin, IL Janae and Brad McGee of Herrin, IL Justin and Shanna Gentile of Herrin, IL Joy and Dustin Craig of Herrin, IL Jason Gentile of Herrin, IL Brittany and Sam Garten of Herrin, IL Nine Great Grandchildren- Courtney McGee, Morgan Lentz, Kelsey Lentz, Reese Gentile, Dominick Gentile, Nolan Gentile, Hudson Craig, Delaney Craig, and Layla Garten Brother- Carl Chew of Carterville, IL Special Niece- Mimi Jo Miracle of Joliet, IL Special Nephew- Mike Chew of Herrin, IL Several beloved nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters- Pauline Bollinger and Edna Dunning, and one brother- Billy Chew. Memorial graveside services will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin, with Monsignor Ken Schaefer and Rev. Don Colson officiating.
