Herrin- Harley L. Cutrell, 79, of Herrin, passed away at 5:30 PM, Saturday, February 23, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. Harley was born on March 1, 1928 in Marion to Lee & Nancy Kate (Springheart) Cutrell. He married Evelyn Heggie on July 24, 1982 in Herrin. She survives of Herrin. Mr. Cutrell retired from the Teamsters Union in 1985 after driving for more than thirty seven years for carriers like Egyptian Freight Lines & CW Transport. He was a member of the Teamsters and the Marion Eagles Club. He enjoyed working in his yard, watching birds and growing roses in his flower garden. He was a real prankster who loved making people laugh, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Harley enjoyed NASCAR and followed Tony Stewart. He was a member of Herrin First Baptist Church since 1959. Survivors include- Wife- Evelyn Cutrell of Herrin Son & daughter in law- Mike & Lisa Cutrell of Palm Harbor, FL Daughter- Brenda Cutrell of Palm Harbor, FL Daughter- Patti Payne of Herrin Son & daughter in law- Mark & Cheryl Cutrell of Herrin Daughter & son in law- Suzanne & Steve Gourley of Herrin Daughter- Angela Simmons of Herrin Eleven Grandchildren: Amy, Angie Jo, Dylan & Damion Crystal, Billy, Debi & Thomas Branda, Jennifer & Jessica Sixteen Great Grandchildren Brother & sister in law- Don & Gladys Cutrell of Energy Sister- Nadine Cutrell of Marion Sister- Barbara Rinella of Marion Sister & brother in law- Helen & Bob Almaroad of Marion Several nieces & nephews The family would like to extend a special thank you to nurses- Emily, Allison & Susan He was preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Herrin City Cemetery. Pastor Don Grammer will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Memorial arrangements are by Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St./ Herrin, IL 62948.
