Marion- Harold A. Kelley, 61, of Marion, died at 5:00 PM, Friday, March 15, 2002 at his home.
Mr. Kelley was born on May 2, 1940 in Carterville to Harold Alexander & Etta Mae (McMillian) Kelley, Sr. He married Brenda Kay Burns on February 12, 1960 at the West Frankfort Nazarene Church. They were married for 42 years.
Harold worked as a refrigeration service technician for HSG Mechanical in Carterville. He was a member of the Plumber and Pipefitters Local #441 in West Frankfort.
Harold?s life revolved around the seasons. He enjoyed fishing for crappie with his son and grandchildren at Crab Orchard and Marion City Lakes. He was an avid hunter of geese and ducks, and bowhunting deer. His fondest memories were spent travelling with his wife in their motor home to Florida, the Black Hills of South Dakota, the Grand Canyon, and Niagara Falls. Harold was a horseman. He had quarter horses and enjoyed trail riding. He was quite active and former Vice President of the Williamson County Saddle Club. He and his family rode their horses from Marion to Sikeston, MO (over 500 miles) in three days as part of an organized trail ride.
Mr. Kelley was a member of New Dennison Baptist Church in Marion. Harold was instrumental in building their new addition, which doubled the size of the church.
He dearly loved his family and will be missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandfather; Ray McMillian, and one sister; Terril Ann Kelley.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 18, 2002 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. David Hancock will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 5-9:00 PM, Sunday, March 17, 2002 at the funeral home.
