Harold Gene Harms, age 78, died Monday, April 30th at 6:32 A.M. at Marion Memorial Hospital.
Visitation for Mr. Harms was from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3rd at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. The funeral service was at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4th with Rev. Howard McDannel officiating. Burial with military rites followed in East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Mr. Harms was born December 4, 1922, in Olney, Illinois, to Clyde and Dessie (Hutchison) Harms. Both parents preceded him in death. He married Wilma Nell Von Lienen on August 5, 1946 in Hutsonville, Illinois. She preceded him in death on May 29, 1999.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Montgomery.
Mr. Harms was retired from Southern Illinois Power Company, where he was a shift foreman. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Parish Park Christian Church in Marion. He was also a member of A.A.R.P.
