Carterville - Harry Crain, Jr., 73, 5677 Stotlar Road, died at 6:00 AM, Monday, October 21, 2002 in an auto accident. Mr. Crain was born April 23, 1929 in Herrin to Harry & Lillian (Davis) Crain, Sr. He married Victoria Bione on November 15, 1950 in Herrin. She survives. Harry retired as brick mason in 1985. He was a life member of the International Brick Mason Union #693. Mr. Crain was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Herrin, Herrin's Prairie Lodge #693, the Williamson County Shrine Club, and Herrin VFW & American Legion Post #1301. SURVIVORS: Wife- Vicki Crain- Carterville Mother- Lillian Crain- Herrin Son & dtr in law- Stephen & Barbara Crain- The Woodlands, TX Dtr & son in law- Susan & Ted Sipe- Holton, KS Dtr & son in law- Phyllis & Robert Law- Normal, IL Son & dtr in law- Mark & Diane Crain- Sterling, VA Dtr & son in law- Drs. Julia Crain & Thimios Zaharopoulos- Lenexa, KS Eleven Grandchildren One Great Granddaughter Sister in law & Brother in law- Beverly & Curt Brown- Branson, MO Sister in law- Jane Bione- Herrin Cousin- Georgia Draves- Lake of Egypt, IL Cousin- Doris Beavers- St. Charles, MO His father preceded him in death. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2002 at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Lee Lovett will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Military rites will be performed at the graveside by Herrin VFW & American Legion Post 1301. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 p. m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Shawnee Alliance for Seniors, or to Franklin-Williamson Human Services and will be accepted at the funeral home.
