Harry Oxford, age 78, of Marion, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family at 12:45pm on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.
Harry was born on March 22, 1940 in Hardin County, the son of Gilbert and Cora (Ralph) Oxford. He married Jane Avery in Johnston City on November 24, 1962. Together, they have shared fifty-five years of marriage. She survives in Marion.
Harry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his coffee buddies each morning and attending various activities involving his grandchildren. Harry was an avid sportsman and loved hunting. He owned teams of mules for many years and attended trail rides with them hooked to his covered wagon. A member of Cornerstone Church in Marion, he enjoyed going to church and sharing meals with family and friends. Harry was a member of the Scottish Rites in Chicago and a past Master of the Irving Blair Masonic Lodge in Chicago.
He will be missed by many that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers- Wink, Russell, Kenny, and Al Oxford, and two sisters- Wanda Cash and Betty Cash.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Michael Nave officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 10am until 12 noon on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.
