Helen Anderson

Herrin- Helen Anderson, 76, of Herrin, died at 11:00PM, Monday, June 9, 2003 at her home with her family. Helen was born on February 10, 1927 to John & Verna (Edmonds) Houghlan. She married Bob Anderson in Little Rock, AR during March of 1949. He survives of Herrin. Mrs. Anderson owned and operated Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Zeigler prior to her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Herrin, the Herrin Junior Women's Club and the Illinois Healthcare Association. Survivors: Husband- Bob Anderson- Herrin Daughter- Debbie Anderson- Herrin Daughter- Verna Webb- Carterville Sister & bro in law- JoAnn & Jimmy Keller- Makanda Sister- Doris Davis- Anna Eight Nieces: Linda Wheeler- Buckner Cindy Cacey- Johnston City Diana Alley- Anna Denise Pippins- Anna Beverley Tweedy- Anna Nancy Davis- Anna Lisa Endebrock- Herrin Robyn Lester- Herrin Eight Nephews: Bobby Houghlan- Herrin Tommy Davis- Home Harbor, FL Robin Dodson- Marion Tim Dodson- Nashville, IL Jim Keller- Anna Matt Chamness- Anna Kevin Anderson- Carterville Jay Anderson- Des Moines, IA Several Great Nieces & Nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, brother; John Houghlan, two sisters; Hattie Houghlan & Dorothy Henard, two nieces; Pat Chamness & Terra Potoski, three nephews; Johnny Houghlan, Mark Chamness & Mike Henard. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 12, 2003 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Jimmy Keller will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at the funeral home.
