Helen S. Basler

Helen S. Basler, age 77, of Herrin, Illinois,  passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at her residence.
Helen was born February 24, 1945 in Biscoe, Arkansas, a daughter of Ralph D. and Hazel B.  (Floyd) Jolly.  Her family moved to Desoto, IL and when she was in the 7th grade they moved to Carbondale, IL where she attended University High School.  She attended VTI Cosmetology School in Carterville, IL.  She married the love of her life, Larry L. Basler on September 08, 1964 in Lawrenceville, IL.  She traveled with her husband, following his job, to many communities in Illinois and Indiana.  In 1970 they moved to Herrin, IL and later lived at a home at the Lake of Egypt in 1990, and returned to Herrin to enjoy their " Golden Years".  Helen enjoyed yard work, gardening, raising flowers, photography, genealogy, woodworking and caring for her African Violets.  She was a member at First Baptist Church in Herrin, IL.  
She is survived by her husband Larry L. Basler of Herrin, IL; three children, Larry D. (Sarah) Basler of Marion, IL, Brett A. (Lisa) Basler of Johnston City, IL, and Tracie L. Cravens of Herrin, IL; five grandchildren, Kory L. (Kody) Fann, Seth A. Basler (Fiancee Nicole Ridgeway), Tyler (Hannah) Cravens, Tad A. Cravens, and Matt S. (Thanaka) Basler; five great-grandchildren Kinley, Kami, Skye, Koen, Noli, Izabella; one brother-in-law Gary Basler of Carbondale, IL; and several nieces and nephews. 
She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph D. and Hazel B. Jolly.

The family will hold a private Celebration of Life at the Lake of Egypt at a later date.
