Helen Eunice Cox

Helen Cox of Memphis, Tennessee, formerly of Marion, passed to her eternal life on February 4, 2023.

Born August 6, 1928 in St. Louis, she was the younger daughter of Harold and Edna Turner. The family later settled in Marion, Illinois where she attended Marion High School. Helen married the love of her life, W. D. "Jack" Cox, in September 1945. He preceded her in death on June 4, 2008. She worked as a legal secretary for many years and was a faithful Christian. Helen was a devoted wife, parent and grandparent with a keen wit and a loving heart. In later years she enjoyed worldwide travel with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister and husband of over 60 years. Her family includes one son, two grandsons, two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, all from Texas.

Graveside funeral services are planned for 2:00pm on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family.
