Helen D. Elam

Harrisburg Helen D. Elam, passed away Friday, June 17, 2005 at 4:00 A.M. at her residence. Helen was born February 19, 1939 to Loren & Opal (Kimmel) Sanders in Johnston City. She married James Earl Kelley in Marion and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1989. She later married William Elam on May 17, 2002 in Marion, Kentucky and he survives of Harrisburg. Helen was a homemaker. She operated a Day Care Center and was a foster parent. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Freedom Freewill Baptist Church. Helen is survived by: Her husband William of Harrisburg Two Sons: Kevin Kelley and wife Susan of Sorento, IL David Kelley & wife Cindy of California One Daughter: Beverly Davis and husband Jim of Marion Step-Son: William D. Elam, Jr of Harrisburg, IL Two Step-Daughters: Jennifer Elam of Harrisburg Rebecca Parris and husband Troy of Oaklawn, IL Twelve Grandchildren Father-in-law: Earl Kelley of Marion Mother-in-law: Vera F. Elam of Harrisburg Brother: Robert Clay Sanders and wife Sue of Elgin, IL Brother-in-law: Kenneth Jenkins of Paulton Sisters-in-law: Louise & Ray Taylor of New Burnside Cheryl & David Gilley of Harrisburg Sue & Jim Parkhurst of Kinmundy, IL Preceded by: Parents, First Husband James Earl Kelley, Brother Paul Wayne Sanders and Sister Wanda J. Jenkins Funeral services will be Monday, June 20, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
