Helen E. Parks

Marion Helen Parks, 86, of Marion, formerly of rural Creal Springs, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2005 at 11:30 A.M. at Whispering Oaks in Marion. Helen was born August 14, 1918 in Williamson County to George & Lora (Tanner) Camden. She married Fred L. Parks on October 19, 1934 and together they shared over 63 years of marriage until his death on April 11, 1998. Helen was a homemaker and had retired as a cook for the Crab Orchard School. Helen was a member of Arnold View Freewill Baptist Church. Helen is survived by: Two Sons: Gene Parks of Marion Jeff Parks and wife Donna of Marion Two Grandsons: Trevor Parks of Hawaii Jeremy Parks of Marion Sister Francis & Carol Newbold of Creal Springs Brother-in-law Tilden Parks of Marion Sister-in-laws: Joyce Camden of Creal Springs Dorothy Camden of Benton Pauline Camden of Creal Springs Mary Parks of Marion Geneva & Bill White of Marion Several nieces and nephews Preceded by: Parents, Husband - Fred, Son Kenneth Parks, Three Brothers Neil, Cletus, & Irvin Camden and Sister Ruth Newbold Funeral services will be Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to Arnold View Freewill Baptist Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.
